Economic Impact of the Tour of Missouri

With the tour of Missouri in full swing it has been very interesting to watch the economic impact of the bike race [as well as the actual race itself which has been great so far].  The organizers of the Tour of Missouri have really managed to turn the event into a world class biking event, attracting loads of the worlds top talent [including George Hincapie one of my favorite riders].

Overall the race is exspected to generate $700,000 – $1,000,000 for the state [jackpot!]  This is especially great because of the fact that the race rolls through many smaller towns in missouri and will provide them with a nice little boost in revenu.  This is great for the state as it really helps out the hospitality industry [hotels, restaurants, resorts, and restaurants all will see a boost in business because of the race].  In addition to the added business it also gives Missouri some publicity [something that is very lacking, other than when Brad Pitt decides to come back into town lol] so that is a nice bonus as well.  All in all the tour of Missouri is Great event, and has really elevated itself in recent years to the status of one of the elite biking events in the entire world.
