Happy New Year Let it Snow
Posted by Samuel in Uncategorized on 01 5th, 2010So we just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year from all of us here at Show-Me-Lakes. 2009 was a great year and hopefully 2010 will bring more good fortune for everyone.
Just wanted to update you on the conditions down at Bull Shoals. When we left last Sunday there was already about 7 inches of snow on the ground and it was still falling. In total the area got hit with about 10 inches of snow! And if you have never been down in the area before, navigating dirt roads with several inches of snow becomes interesting very quickly! All in all there is not too much to update you one as the weather is very cold, but we hope you had a happy holiday and are getting ready for some warmer weather.

Posted by Samuel in Uncategorized on 11 14th, 2009So the house on Bull Shoals Lake is coming along nicely. I will try to snap a few pictures of the place this weekend and put them up in a post. Basically we have progressed to the stage of only needing to put the tile down in the kitchen and then start buying appliances… everything other than that is done (for the most part )
Hope everyone is enjoying the great weather we have been fortunate enough to have over the past week or so.
Information Stockton Lake Website
Posted by Samuel in Uncategorized on 10 9th, 2009Just wanted to share another great information site with everyone. The site covers Stockton Lake, with information about fishing on Stockton, the Dam, as well as a general history of the lake and resorts to stay at near the lake. We noticed this site while we were searching around for information about Stockton to add to our websites description of the lake. If you are looking for history about the lake, or just want to read up about some fun Stockton Lake facts then you should really check out www.stockton-lake.com
Weekend Getaway to Bull Shoals Lake
Posted by Samuel in Uncategorized on 09 29th, 2009All right so we were able to get away to Bull Shoals Lake this weekend and the weather was perfect. It was realistically most likely the last weekend we will be able to water ski and put the jet-ski in the water, and the temperature was in the 80′s Saturday and Sunday. We were able to get some great water skiing in, as well as 2 really good rounds of golf (well 1 good round… and then lest just call the other one fun lol) over at Theodosia country club.
We also lit a huge bonfire with all of the limbs we had been clearling the last few times we went down to Bull Shoals to work on the house which was really fun. The flames shot at least 20-25 feet high during the peak of the fire which was pretty cool. My friend Brian also came down with us and he brought his hand gun which we shot off about 80 rounds from! That was awesome!
All in all it was a great weekend down at Bull Shoals and I am really happy that the weather cooperated with us and we were able to get in one last weekend on the water before it got to cold.

Economic Impact of the Tour of Missouri
Posted by Samuel in Uncategorized on 09 12th, 2009With the tour of Missouri in full swing it has been very interesting to watch the economic impact of the bike race [as well as the actual race itself which has been great so far]. The organizers of the Tour of Missouri have really managed to turn the event into a world class biking event, attracting loads of the worlds top talent [including George Hincapie one of my favorite riders].
Overall the race is exspected to generate $700,000 – $1,000,000 for the state [jackpot!] This is especially great because of the fact that the race rolls through many smaller towns in missouri and will provide them with a nice little boost in revenu. This is great for the state as it really helps out the hospitality industry [hotels, restaurants, resorts, and restaurants all will see a boost in business because of the race]. In addition to the added business it also gives Missouri some publicity [something that is very lacking, other than when Brad Pitt decides to come back into town lol] so that is a nice bonus as well. All in all the tour of Missouri is Great event, and has really elevated itself in recent years to the status of one of the elite biking events in the entire world.

MIZ
Posted by Samuel in Uncategorized on 09 4th, 2009All right well this post is somewhat off topic but the Missouri Tigers are taking on the Illinois tomorrow in the Jones Dome downtown to open up their season. The game looks to be a good one (really the last few years this game has always been great). But in particular it is going to be an exciting game because there are tons of new faces that will be starting for the first time including almost the whole secondary for Mizzou as well as Blain Gabbert at QB. We are getting revved up for the game here, and excited about the new season. Mizzou is not be getting any credit by any of the experts but I think this is probably the most talented team that we have had in the last few years (just imagine if maclin didnt leave early…) With Washington and Gabbert providing the 1-2 Punch at QB and RB I think this team has a real shot to win quite a few games and get back to another solid bowl…. the main question is the defence but then again it seems like the D is always the main ? for Mizzou.
Let’s go Tigers!
